Project Spotlight: The Lough Shore House, Warrenpoint

Nestled along Carlingford Lough, The Lough Shore House is a striking contemporary residence, designed with thoughtful detail by the talented team at Atelier Belfast. Surfaceform was honoured to work on this project, contributing a signature bronze polished plaster finish for the sculptural staircase, a true centrepiece within this remarkable home.

The staircase, with its bronze polished plaster surface, mirrors the rich, autumnal tones found in the surrounding Cooley Mountains and the natural beauty of Carlingford Lough. Surfaceform’s contribution was to ensure the staircase exuded warmth and texture, anchoring the design with a luxurious, bespoke finish that complements the carefully curated interiors by Atelier Belfast.

“We envisioned the staircase as a distinctive architectural element,” says Victor from Atelier Belfast. “The dark, textured plaster walls frame the expansive views of the lough beautifully as you ascend, while the metallic bronze finish reflects light throughout the space, adding depth and warmth.”

Atelier Belfast’s design draws inspiration from the coastal landscape without leaning on traditional beach themes, creating a sense of balance and elegance that honours the location’s unique character. Each room reflects thoughtful touches – like wave-inspired patterns in the entrance hall wall panels, custom rugs, and hand-blown glass chandeliers – evoking a subtle nod to the sea.

Surfaceform’s bronze plasterwork is part of a carefully orchestrated narrative of luxury and craftsmanship that runs throughout The Lough Shore House. This unforgettable residence combines Atelier Belfast’s refined coastal vision with Surfaceform’s commitment to material excellence, resulting in a home that is both impactful and serene.

Each and every detail across this project was meticulously curated, embedding deep dedication to excellence and a relentless pursuit of perfection.

Thank you to Atelier Belfast for allowing Surfaceform to play a part in this exquisite project.

For those looking to create luxurious and distinctive surface finishes, Surfaceform’s Metallic Plaster range offers a versatile and innovative solution. Available in smooth or textured applications with options from matt to glossy, this material brings a refined elegance to any environment – whether it’s a commercial space, luxury hotel, or private residence.

Metallic Plaster is essential for achieving a striking interior design, helping to craft a stylish and unique atmosphere. Not only is it visually impressive, but it’s also highly functional, eliminating the need for paint or wallpaper. The finish is created with a combination of specialist plaster, pigments, and metallic coatings, offering both durability and cost-efficiency.

Here at Surfaceform, we offer a wide variety of finishes for our Metallic Plaster. These range from subtle, smooth surfaces to more dramatic, textured finishes. Whether you’re looking for the rich tones of bronze, copper, or the elegance of gold and silver, we can combine these metallic hues with various textures to suit any design vision.

One of the key benefits of our Metallic Plaster is its ease of maintenance. Simple to clean with just a damp cloth and mild soapy water, this material is ideal for high-traffic areas. Should any accidental damage occur, the surface can be easily repaired without needing to replaster the entire wall, making it perfect for both commercial and residential settings.

Incorporating Metallic Plaster into commercial designs adds an instant touch of elegance and sophistication. From reception walls and desk fronts to feature pillars and ceiling designs, Surfaceform has used this finish in numerous applications, providing a luxurious backdrop every time. Some standout examples from our completed projects include the Bronze Metallic wall at Adelaide Street and its usage in hotels such as Carlton Hotel, Dublin and JES Hotel, at Galgorm Manor.

Residential projects, like the Kenwood Lee House, further showcase how this material can bring a sense of luxury and sophistication into homes.

  • Ideal Applications Include:
    • Feature walls
    • Reception desks and backgrounds
    • Staircases and columns
