Polished Plaster Finishes

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

A polished plaster finish is a thin coating of plaster – often just 1-3mm thick – which can be applied to almost any interior and most exterior surfaces. These are very durable and easy to maintain, and can even incorporate colours or pigments to alleviate the need for painting and repainting the surface.

Because we apply polished plaster finishes 100% by hand, using traditional tools and methods, the result has a pleasing, organic feel and a slightly mottled colouration which gives the sensation of a great deal of depth – even if it is applied to nothing more substantial than MDF or plasterboard.

What are the benefits of using polished plaster finishes in your home or office?

Polished plaster wall finishes have numerous advantages over other kinds of wall finishes. Unlike painted surfaces, polished plaster finishes are easy to clean and extremely durable. They can hold their colour for decades without peeling or fading, even when exposed to sun and water. Unlike wallpaper or vinyl surfaces, polished plaster doesn’t stain or tear.

In the end, you’ll have a beautiful, durable surface in your choice of colours which could literally last a lifetime, or more. The important thing to remember is that even if you’re only talking about a relatively thin surface, it is an extremely robust one. Traditional, all natural materials and good old fashioned master craftsmanship make for a wall, ceiling or other surface that really feels solid, permanent and reliable. That is an advantage you can’t overestimate.

Choosing polished plaster finishes

We offer a range of different polished plaster wall finishes, colours and textures. The most important thing to remember when choosing between polished plaster finishes is the effect you’re trying to achieve.

If you want a dramatic, can’t be missed service, consider something like our relief surface. If you want a no-nonsense wall that nonetheless conveys a sense of depth, texture and permanence, then perhaps you’d be happier with a grey or white polished plaster.
